Gary Dilley

In the early 1950's, Gary's musical career began with listening to Mitch Miller albums as a youngster. At 16, Gary was the lead vocalist and front man for "Sons of Pride". By then he had played some guitar, bass, keys and drums at a novice level, advancing by 1973, he started the southern rock group "Arckinstone". "The List Brothers", bluegrass style, was who he joined next and 5 nights a week they became successful with financial rewards. Incorporating his three children into music "The Dilley Kids" were formed; a charitable group who played for the elderly in retirement homes.
Later, came pickin' parties; where "The Golden Grass Express", a bluegrass group played festivals and parties. He traveled around the mid-west competing in guitar (flat picking) contests as well as backing up banjo, fiddle and mandolin players. He and one of his best friends entertained at every party, hog roast and celebration with-in a 50 mile radius forming a 2 man group doing material such as America, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, out of the back of an old Chevy truck with speakers sitting on the rooftop. Gary's talents turned into mainline country and he joined "Fire Brand", an all electric and percussion band. In 1993, he joined a group called "Wilma D", a very good female vocalist and a group of great musicians where they played the Country Music Awards (independent) in Nashville.
Then he shaped a group called "Renegade" playing rhythm and singing lead vocals. Moving farther down state he played classic rock, blues and southern rock with "Legend Band". Gary played congas, rhythm guitars, sang lead vocals and background harmonies. The lead guitarist, Chuck, from "Legend Band" and Gary started a duo act called "DUECE".
In 2005, Gary moved to Florida and enrolled at International Academy of Design and Technology in 2007 for his Bachelor Degree in Recording Arts and started recording background tracks. He was educated in the areas of: Band Manager, Mixing and Mastering, Studio Setup, Operation and Management, Recording Producer, On Location Sound Engineer, and Music Business Law. He earned extensive hands on training with software such as Reason, Pro Tools, Logic 8, Surround Sound and others with a perfect attendance and a 3.46 GPA. In 2009 he continued his education in the audio world and was introduced to guitar building and repair.
Gary has been writing, composing and recording his first album for release. His experience with recovery from the battle of the disease of alcohol and drug addiction has overwhelmingly been to carry hope through his God given ability to write, sing and play. Gary's lifelong music career has been spiritually rewarding, poetry for his soul.
