Mike Pryor better known as Dumpster Mike. He was born in Indiana, October of 1956, raised in Illinois. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and played and sang in church from age 12 to age 14. At 14 he moved to Missouri and at 16 he started his drinking career which landed him in the army. After a small stint in the Army he hit the road hitch hiking with his guitar, a duffle bag, and his friend mad dog 20-20. From 1977 to 1993 he earned his name "Dumpster" Mike. Traveling 44 states and trying to play guitar and sing along with anything he could to survive in the streets. After numerous jails, detoxes and 28 day programs, in 1993 he got sick and tired of being sick and tired. On Feb 22, 1993 he went into his last detox in Ft Lauderdale Fl. After 45 days he got off the streets and a fellow 12 stepper loaned him a guitar and after 60 days he bought a guitar and returned the one he was loaned (that was a first).... Lol
For the last 18 yrs he has played in several bands and for many 12 step functions from Florida to Indiana. In 1999 he became a one man band with the help of a fellow 12 stepper. He continues to play and sing under the stage name of Dumpster Mike And The Gigabytes at several places today restaurants, tiki huts, RV Parks , private parties and 12 step functions and gets paid for it instead of getting paid to leave lol
